The year: Summer of 2002
The place: Beijing, China
2002 will go down in our travel history as one of the most memorable experiences in our teaching career...it combined the best of teaching with a phenomenal travel experience...climbing the great wall, trips to the Forbidden Palace and the Temple of Heaven among other things...
Some day I hope to repeat the success of this trip by combining a travel and teach experience in Central/South America.
The travel and teach model affords us the opportunity to truly understand the culture and the people in our travels. Our travel thus becomes an "arch, whereto gleams the untravelled world"
The clever marketing of the "Travels in E-ducation" program and the skills of the tour guides was a major incentive to sign up for the program.

New Beginnings
- As we begin a new semester, it is timely to consider some of the barriers that stand in the way of student success. What are some of the major barriers and are there strategies that we can come up with that will enable us to overcome these barriers? A good starting point would be to arrive at a list of these barriers. A possible list might be:
- Time management
- Getting organized
- Procrastination
- Peer pressure
